Q: What exactly is a keyword?

It is the first word of a text message sent to 1919. If somebody writes TXTY WIN, we look at the word TXTY, see that the keyword is yours, and pass the message on. The rest of the text comes with it, so you can use it however you like.

Auto-replies handle most of it

Most enquiries can be answered straight away. You can set the keyword up to reply automatically every time it is used, so the sender gets a receipt immediately without anybody on your side doing anything.

If the messages need to go into your own system, we will happily push them straight in rather than making you poll for them.

Would you rather use your own number?

A keyword on 1919 covers most needs. If people should write to a number that is yours alone instead, there are two routes:

Virtual number . An ordinary-looking Danish mobile number with no physical SIM card behind it, supplied by us. The recipient hits reply and the message lands with you.
Hosted SIM card . Your own SIM card, which you post to us, so both outbound and inbound messages run on the number your customers already know.

Both behave like a keyword in our system, so auto-replies, forwarding and the API work the same way. A virtual number costs DKK 120 a month and a hosted SIM card DKK 120, and keywords on your own number are free.

Can we have several keywords?

Yes, as many as you want. You pay DKK 120 per keyword per month. Many customers have one keyword per department or per campaign, while others make do with one and use sub-keywords to keep things apart.

Does it cost anything to text 1919?

The sender pays their own operator's standard SMS rate. There is nothing on top, unless you have agreed a premium service with us.
