SMS newsletter

A text message gets read. Save that for the customers who asked to hear from you, rather than shouting at everybody else.

DKK 0.30

per message sent

All prices exclude VAT.

Customers sign themselves up

They text your keyword to 1919 and they are on the list. Nobody on your side has to key sign-ups in.

Unsubscribing is just as easy

One line at the bottom of the message is enough. They text your keyword followed by STOP and they are off the list.

Segmentation

If you hold data on the recipients, you can narrow the list before you send, so the offer reaches the people it actually suits.

Personal messages

Merge in a name, an order number or whatever else you have on file, instead of sending everybody the same thing.

Schedule the send

Queue the offer in good time and let it go out on Friday afternoon, without anybody having to be at the office.

Pay per message

DKK 0.30 per SMS, with no subscription and no per-seat licences. The keyword people sign up on costs DKK 120 a month, and the rest is usage.

is all a customer has to text to sign up

The open-rate figures are general industry figures for SMS, not our own measurements.

An SMS newsletter is not the same as blasting adverts at everybody whose number you can find. It is a list of people who put their hand up.

Customers sign up by texting your keyword to 1919. From there you can send them offers, news, or something reserved for the people in the club. You do not have to administer sign-ups, and they do not have to fill in a form.

Why SMS marketing works

A text message lands on the screen people look at all day, and it gets read within minutes. In return you only get one shot, so the format works best when the message is short, specific and genuinely relevant to whoever receives it.

Keep the list clean

People change numbers. With an HLR lookup you can run the list through before you send and weed out the numbers that no longer exist. It costs DKK 0.08 per lookup and usually pays for itself in the messages you avoid sending into nothing.

What our customers use it for

Four ways to use the list once you have built it.

Campaigns and offers

Send an offer to the whole list, or to the segment it actually suits. Flash sales and time-limited offers work well over SMS, because the message gets read straight away.

Customer club

Give members something other people do not get. Early access, an offer that only applies to the club, or an invitation to something that is not advertised widely.

Competitions and votes

Ask people to text a word to your keyword to enter. You get the entrants collected in one place, and you can send a receipt straight back.

Event invitations

Invite people to an event, and send a reminder the day before. Narrow the list so you only write to the people who could realistically turn up.

Contact us

How do people sign up?

They send a text with your keyword to 1919 and they are on the list immediately. You can also key sign-ups in manually in the control panel if you have collected them another way.

How do they unsubscribe?

They send your keyword followed by STOP to 1919. Many customers add a short line at the bottom of the send: Text KEYWORD STOP to 1919 to unsubscribe. You can also remove people manually in the control panel.

Are we allowed to send marketing by SMS?

You need the recipient's consent, exactly as with email. That is why keyword sign-up works so well: the customer actively asks to join the list, so you have a clear record of the opt-in.
